In memory of Saint Patrick who died on 17 th march. Patrick who was son of Calpurnius, a Roman-British army officer in Britain. However, One day a band of pirates kidnapped him along with many others and sold him into slavery in Ireland. He was there for 6 years, mostly imprisoned. During this time he changed and started dreaming of seening God. One day he escaped and came back to britain. Afetr coming back he converted Irish to Christianity. Finally he died on 17th march and was buried at Downpatrick and he became Ireland's foremost saint. Since then,People gather together on this day and try to do things that pay tribute to him.
